WHAT SHOULD A PERSON EXPECT IF THEY ARE ARRESTED FOR DRUNK DRIVING?
If a person's been arrested for drunk driving, typically on scene what's going to happen is they're going to be placed in hand cuffs and put in the patrol car. Usually what's going to also happen is that their vehicle will be impounded. They're then going to be asked at some point whether or not they're going to provide a breath sample. They will either refuse or not refuse. At the end of that outcome they're going to be placed in the jail. Typically, in Florida, that person will have to remain in jail for a period of 8 hours before they can be released on their own or post a bond.
